Contemporary Psychoanalysis Program

General Operations:

  • The program can be initiated when enough people express an interest in starting a cohort
  • Cohort group of 5-7 members
  • Runs for three years*, 30 weeks per year
  • Each week meets 4.5 hours 
(2 Classes, 1.5 hours each and Case Consultation, 1.5 hours)
  • Conduct 3 clinical cases, one case seen 
for a minimum of 3 times per week
  • 150 hours of supervision, at least 35 hours each 
with three different supervisors, each gender
  • 300 hours of individual analysis

Entrance Requirements:

  • Completion of Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program or its equivalent as approved by the Board of Directors
  • Meet all the requirements for entrance into Contemporary Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy Program
  • Statement of commitment to psychoanalysis
  • Two interviews with case presentations

Graduation Requirements:

  • Satisfactory completion of supervision
  • Satisfactory completion of analysis
  • Satisfactory completion of Clinical Case write-ups
  • Satisfactory participation in class 
and case consultation groups
