Memberships & Subscriptions

Memberships, Subscriptions, and Event Tickets are facilitated by the MemberPress plugin and its add-ons and are subject to the MemberPress Privacy Policy.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect information about you during the sign-up process as well as some basic activities such as the dates you make purchases, log into the site, or cancel/pause/resume your subscriptions with us.

What we collect and store

When you purchase a membership, subscription, or ticket from us we’ll ask you to provide an email address. We’ll use this information for purposes such as, to:

  • Send you information about your account and purchases. This may include payment receipts, password reset emails, and payment reminders.
  • Create your membership account on our website.

Payments

We accept payments through PayPal. When processing payments some of your data will be passed to PayPal, including information required to process or support the payment, such as the purchase total and billing information. Please see the PayPal Privacy Policy for more details.

Events

Event, Venue, and Organizer Information

If you create, submit, import, save, or publish Event, Venue, or Organizer information, such information is retained in the local website database:

  1. Venue information may include name, address, city, country, state, postal code, phone, website, and geographical coordinates (latitude and longitude)
  2. Organizer information: name, phone, website, email.
  3. Event information: website, cost, description, date, time, image(s).

Importing Events, Venues, and Organizers

  1. All data present within an CSV or ICS file and external URLs (for events, venues, organizers, and tickets)
  2. Import origin data (URL from where events are being imported – such as Eventbrite, MeetUp, or other compatible URL sources, which can include similar or same data as listed above.

To create an event on this website the user must be registered with an account on this website and have been granted a user role capable of creating an event listing and/or event ticket memberships and coupons. The event information is retained in the local database for this website unless or until the event listing is deleted, however past event listings are typically retained indefinitely.

Event Tickets

Event Tickets are either non-recurring MemberPress Memberships and/or MemberPress Coupons and electronic payments are processed through PayPal (see Memberships & Subscriptions section above)

Comments

When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media

If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from the full size images on the website.

Cookies

If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select “Remember Me”, your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

If you edit or publish an article, post, page, event, course, lesson, or quiz, an additional cookie will be saved in your browser. This cookie includes no personal data and simply indicates the post ID of the article you just edited. It expires after 1 day.

Embedded content from other websites

Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

How long we retain your data

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website (if any), we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website Administrators and Managers can also see and edit that information.

We store information about you for as long as your account on our website exists.

Who on our team has access

Our website Administrators and Managers have access to your:

  • Order information, subscriptions, and transactions;
  • payment dates and amounts; and
  • your username and email address.

Any additional information you choose to provide in your Profile for the “Find A Therapist Directory” will be visible to the general public. Any additional information you choose to provide in your Profile for the “Member Directory” will be visible to Administrators, Managers, and other Members of this website.

Who we share your data with

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

We also may, as necessary, share your payment data with our payment gateway/processor to facilitate the transaction.

This site is regularly backed up, meaning all its information is periodically duplicated and stored elsewhere, but exclusively for the purposes of restoring the website with our webhosting company, their third-party backup provider(s) and/or secure cloud storage services. Other copies of this website may be created from time to time for future development and improvement purposes, but such copies are not publicly accessible.

What we share with others

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.

Your activity on our website may be logged by analytics/reporting tools.

API Keys

We make use of certain APIs (Application Program Interfaces) in order to provide specific features. These may include:

  • Google Maps (API Key)
  • Google Calendar (ClientID, Client Secret, Token)
  • Apple iCalendar (ClientID, Token)
  • MeetUp (OAuth Token)
  • PayPal (email, ClientID, Client Server)

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.
